Yeah, you can draft that guy at the top of the "Top Performers" list but why is he there? So many people go for the player with the most points and completely ignore a week by week analysis. Take a step back and examine if this player is truly what you want. Did he score 35 of that 50 points in one week and then only maybe 5 over the next 3 weeks? What good would that do you? You would only be looking at the wire for another player the following week. Fantasy football is more than who will get me the most points this week. It's called consistency. Yeah, you can pick up that guy at the top of the "Top Performers" list but why is he there? So many people go for the player with the most points and completely ignore a week by week analysis. What does a player do for your fantasy team on a week-to-week basis? Do you have a player who scores over 25 fantasy points on three different occasions only to score less than seven six different times? Though he may have helped your squad on three separate occurrences, he cost you valuable wins six other times. This theory is not accepted by many fantasy owners, but I’m telling you now that if you can find a team full of consistent performers (whether they deliver breakout games or not) you will see yourself in the playoffs come December.

So, what constitutes a quality game… or a breakout game, or a costly one?

QUARTERBACKS
Costly Game = < 14 points
Average Game = 14-19 points
Quality Game = 20-25 points
Breakout Game = > 25 points
RUNNING BACKS
Costly Game = < 10 points
Average Game = 10-16 points
Quality Game = 17-22 points
Breakout Game = > 22 points
WIDE RECEIVERS
Costly Game = < 7 points
Average Game = 7-12 points
Quality Game = 13-18 points
Breakout Game = > 18 points
TIGHT ENDS
Costly Game = < 3 points
Average Game = 3-7 points
Quality Game = 8-12 points
Breakout Game = > 12 points

What you want is a player who can provide you with as many average/quality games as possible, while avoiding the costly games. My theory is that I’d rather have a player who can give me 16 average/quality games than a player who offers six breakout games, six costly games, and four average/quality games. I plan on tracking the performance of these players each week to better help you facilitate a trade in your fantasy football league. Enjoy.

***Scoring includes PPR***
***For the sake of the length of the article only the top 20-50 in each position are listed***

Notes:
- The top 5 guys are looking great - if you drafted them hold on to them - duh, no brainer there!
- WOW, are we really seeing a QBBC in KC? If you drafted a KC quarterback I am sure the other owners in the league appreciate your donation - STAY AWAY!!
- It is looking like Garcia may be back at the helm of the pirate ship in Tampa Bay - keep an eye on this could change with the next sneeze.
- If you took a flyer on Warner, good on ya! He is playing great BUT has had a semi-easy schedule. The next two games he will face Dallas and Carolina, could be tough.

Notes:
- Gore is on track for his 3rd 1000 yard season in a row and could eclipse his most TDs in a season - he has looked great on a mediocre team.
- Several rookies are making significant strides this year. Matt Forte is one of the more consistant backs and since Slaton has gotten the nod he has scored over 20 points per week.
- Several players you may think you can depend on this year may be truly hurting your team - one example is Larry Johnson, when do you start him and when do you sit him? Raise you hand if he hurt you this week.

- While some may jump on DeAngelo Williams if he is available, beware, in 5 weeks he has had ONE game over 10 points. There is potential but it has only been there one week so far.
- Reggie Bush put up some nice numbers this week - if you have the Saints D/ST. His numbers on the offense side just arent as consistant as you would like on a regular basis.
