Morrison The Lone Bright Spot

Raiders LB Kirk Morrison was the lone bright spot for the Raiders Thursday night. Morrison racked up 12 tackles (11 solo) in the Raiders defeat.

Morrison is a solid and stable LB1 and will remain such for the rest of the fantasy playoffs. If you own him, sit back and enjoy the ride.

Jackson Comes Through

Chargers WR Vincent Jackson had a big night Thursday night as he racked up 148 yards and a touchdown on only five receptions.

Jackson's reliability has been a bit spotty, but he is clearly the best big-play receiver San Diego has and he continues to put up big yardage this season. He is a particularly nice option in distance scoring leagues.

LT Solid

Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson ran for 91 yards and a score on 25 carries against the Raiders Thursday night.

Not a bad outing out of LT, but far from what we are used to from the annual RB superstar. LT has been a spotty play most of the season, but 15 points in the playoffs is a start. Keep riding LT until the wheels fall off.

Rivers Throws Three Scores

Chargers QB Philip Rivers threw for 214 yards and three touchdowns on Thursday night.

Rivers had another solid outing this week and will likely help quite a few fantasy playoff teams get off to a strong start. Continue plugging him in your lineups and chugging along for the remainder of the fantasy season.

Russell Leaves Injured

Raiders QB JaMarcus Russell left Thursday night's game in the second quarter with what appears to be an ankle injury.

Russell was struggling against a below average Chargers defense even before the injury. It looks like QB Andrew Walter will take over now as the second half resumes and will finish the game. Early reports are that the x-rays came back negative.

Barber Now A GTD?

Cowboys RB Marion Barber is now being talked about as a game time decision after not practicing again today. "We were assuming that Marion would play, but it's a little more doubtful right now, so we'll see [today]," coach Wade Phillips said.

We will continue to monitor the situation and status and update you as information comes along. For now, it looks like Barber will be limited all week and may not practice before potentially playing on Sunday.

Pacman To Return Kicks & Punts

Cowboys CB Adam Jones will now return both punts and kicks for Dallas this week.

The Cowboys are trying to find ways to get Jones actively involved on the field. Jones hasn't returned kicks since 2006. Jones used to be a fantastic returner and averaged over 26 yards per kick return in his time with the Titans. If you play in a league that rewards for return yardage, consider scooping Jones for the playoffs.

Finnegan & Harper Dinged

Titans CB Nick Harper and CB Cortland Finnegan both sat out practice today with leg injuries.

Both are expected to be ok for the game this weekend. Titans fans can take some comfort in knowing that even without their two CBs being healthy, they only have to face the Browns and QB Ken Dorsey.

Ellis Arrested

Jets DE Shaun Ellis was arrested for marijuana possession, speeding, and driving without insurance last weekend. “I apologize to my family, the fans and the organization,” Ellis said. “As a captain, I set a poor example for my teammates as well as all NFL players. Although this is a pending legal matter, I understand that I have to be responsible for my actions.”

Ellis faces the potential for suspension over this matter, but he likely will not face suspension until after the 2008 season is complete. He should remain in the lineup for the Jets and is a decent DL2/DL3 in most IDP leagues. Feel free to keep starting him if you already do so and look for a solid game this week against a less then stellar 49ers team.

Young Limited

Broncos RB Selvin Young was limited in practice today.

Young was able to practice in full yesterday and was not able to do so today. His status for this weekend is now unknown and it may be wise to keep him on your bench for yet another week. If you own RB Peyton Hillis, feel free to put him in your lineup as Hillis will likely shoulder most of the load again this week.
