The Average Auction Value Tool will be 100% free in 2008. We are still waiting to gather more accurate data before we release the first edition this year. What are Average Auction Values? Please read below for a detailed description. Also, you can click the link to see how this tool was laid out for our final update in 2007. The data is broken down as follows:
Top 300+ Overall
Top 40+ QBs
Top 80+ RBs
Top 100+ WRs
Top 30+ TEs
Top 20+ Ks
Top 20+ DSTs
You will see each position tab at the bottom of the Excel File.
OUR AUCTION DOLLAR VALUES ARE ALL BASED ON A $200 SALARY CAP.
The column under AAV is the averaged value of all three resources and provides you with a very clear picture of the auction values for each player.
Please let us know what you think about the tool and I am hopeful you will find it useful on draft day.
P.S. You WILL need a copy of Microsoft Excel to utilize this spreadsheet.
Enjoy!
It seems as if every year more and more tools are being created to help fantasy football owners gain that "edge" in their draft. As many of you know I am a huge proponent of average draft position (ADP)... a tool that allows you to see where (in what position) certain players are being drafted. Despite all the new gadgets being produced every year, I'm still a firm believer in the basics.
It's one of the reasons why Robert Cobb and I developed the concept of a real time ADP tool that would pull LIVE data from multiple league software resources. In my opinion, our Average Draft Position Tool is one of the best tools in the entire industry. It gives you a clear cut advantage on draft day and can help put you in a position to draft value and avoid reaching.
Then it hit me... how could I take this theory and use it for an auction-based league? Since auctions still aren't mainstream, finding data to fulfill my theory was a bit difficult. However, gathering info from our experts here at FantasyFootball.com combined with the mock auctions held at FantasyAuctioneer.com, we've developed a new tool called AAV -- Average Auction Values.
Our good friend George Del Prado (FantasyAuctioneer.com) has long been telling me how big auctions are going to become, and I'm starting to believe him. I've taken the average auction dollar values of every single auction that has been completed on his site to assist me in creating another very valuable tool.
